Line training and marine excursions

Staying in an desert eco-village
How will our days look?

We will start each day with a dry session in the Yoga Shala or Bedouin Tent
We will cover a different topic every morning, including: conscious breathing and relaxation techniques; freediving-specific movement and mobilising; breath-holding practices; brain and body based tools to manage your nervous system; dry-exercises for better equalisation; opportunity for Q+A with your instructors
Each morning (apart from Dolphin Day) we will do a line-training session at the House Reef, using the freediving platform. You will have the opportunity to work with both David and Louisa
After Lunch we will have a fun-dive marine excursion, either from shore or by boat to different locations, to enjoy the pristine coral landscapes and abundant marine life
You will have space to chill before and after lunch and dinner :)
Evening meal, de-brief and plan for the following day

Where do we stay?
We stay in an eco village in the desert, with a variety of comfortable and well equipped accommodation options. This trip is all-inclusive, and the food is great!
The resort has been designed for divers and is
right next to one of the richest and most pristine reefs in the southern Red Sea, in an area that has been protected for the last 20 years.

Accommodation can be shared or solo. All options have sunrise views and are just steps from the sea.
The Royal Tents are luxury glamping-style large tents, with proper beds and electricity.

For those who wish to experience a Middle Eastern style mini-house with a domed-roof, the Deluxe Chalets are a very cute option, which include A/C and an ensuite bathroom

Louisa Collyns
David Phillips
Louisa Collyns, an AIDA Master Instructor, founded Ibiza’s first freediving school, Freedive Ibiza, in 2014. A year after learning to freedive, she competed in the 2013 Depth World Championships and later made history as the first female Chief of Safety at an international depth competition.

With expertise in teaching, coaching, competing, and safety, Louisa is one of the world’s most experienced competition safety freedivers and a former AIDA Safety Committee consultant. She was recently a keynote speaker at a Freediving Conference in London. Her safety work extends beyond competitions to film productions, and she has even appeared on screen as an underwater dancer.
Known for her technical, patient and mindful approach to teaching, she helps people to overcome fears and improve awareness of the mind-body connection, ensuring relaxation in the water. Louisa is trained in brain and body based healing techniques for fears and trauma.
David discovered freediving at 12 while spearfishing in Spain. Years later, while managing Boutique Hostal Salinas in Ibiza, he rekindled his passion after taking a course with Louisa Collyns in 2017.
This inspired him to pursue freediving professionally, becoming an AIDA Instructor in 2020 and founding Saltfish Freediving Ibiza in 2021. Now an AIDA Master Instructor, he teaches in Ibiza during summer and Dahab, Egypt, in winter.

As a competitive freediver, David holds two Balearic Depth records (78m & 82m) and won two Silver medals at the 2024 Spanish Championships. He has also reached an impressive 92m in Dahab’s Blue Hole.

David has been a professional DJ for 30 years, which notably included a 15-year residency at Space in Ibiza and as a guest in numerous international clubs. Freediving has been his escape and his salvation, which he is deeply passionate about sharing with others.

Dolphin Day
One of the highlights of this week (and perhaps your life!) will be our full-day adventure to freedive with a pod of wild and playful spinner dolphins

The Dolphin Reef is a unique location, and one of the few places in the world where freedivers have the opportunity to have respectful encounters and interactions with dolphins in the wild
